John Maxwell's The 360 Degree Leader wisely underscores that leadership need not only be found at the top of organizations. Effective leadership can and should be found right slap-dab in the middle of the organization ladder. Leadership that can develop in the middle, effectively influencing those over you, your peers, and those under you, is leadership that will naturally rise to the top. Leadership is not simply positional authority, but rather personal influence.
